Wedding and honeymoon in one
This is how you plan a whole week abroad — more time together, better value for money, and an itinerary that actually makes sense.
Why travel twice when you can travel once? More and more couples are choosing to build a whole week — or more — around their wedding day, with the honeymoon as a natural extension of the celebration. This provides more time with guests, more time for each other afterwards, and usually better value for money than two separate trips.
Why combine a wedding and a honeymoon?
The most obvious advantage is financial: one long trip is often more affordable than two separate ones, and you avoid taking time off work twice within a short period.
Many couples find that the wedding day itself goes quickly, and that it is the the days before and after that provide the truly relaxed memories.

How you structure your week
A common and well-functioning model is to divide the stay into three phases: arrival and reconnaissance, the wedding celebration itself over 2–3 days, and a concluding, private part after the guests have departed.
The latter phase is the actual honeymoon — preferably in another location in the same country or region, with no schedule to follow.
Practical considerations you should think about
Be clear in the invitation about what is the "official wedding program" and what is your private time afterwards. Most guests do not expect to join the entire honeymoon.
Also consider if you want a completely different location for the honeymoon part than where the wedding is taking place.

Budgeting for a combined trip
Because weddings and honeymoons often merge, it's easy to lose track. Our recommendation is to set up two separate entries from the start: one for the wedding days with guests, and one for the private part of the stay.
This makes it easier to keep track along the way, and easier to see what you actually spent on each part afterwards.
