Which season should you choose?

June and July offer the longest days and best chance of good weather, but are also high season with corresponding prices. May and September are often underestimated alternatives — still bright evenings, but calmer and more flexible.

A winter wedding is untraditional but increasingly popular — snow, candlelight, and the chance to see the Northern Lights create an atmosphere that is difficult to recreate elsewhere.

Practical considerations regardless of the season

Norwegian weather is unpredictable regardless of the season, so a well-considered backup plan for the ceremony — a tent, a covered veranda, or an indoor hall at the ready — is always wise, even in mid-summer.

Distances can be longer than they appear on a map in fjord and mountain areas. Consider shared bus or boat transport for guests — it often becomes part of the experience itself.
