Wedding Trends 2027 for Destination Weddings

From multi-day celebrations to earthy colors – these are the trends we're seeing most clearly among couples planning right now.

Every season, the wedding world evolves a little — some trends disappear as quickly as they arrive, others stick around. Based on what we're seeing among couples currently planning destination weddings, these are the clearest trends for 2027.

01

Multi-day celebrations are becoming the norm

Where a destination wedding previously often was one long day of festivities, we now see that more and more couples are building in a whole weekend of activities: a welcome dinner, ceremony and reception, and a relaxed brunch the day after.

For guests who have traveled far anyway, this provides more value for their trip.

02

Earthy color palettes are taking over

Soft, powdery colours have dominated for a long time, but 2027 points towards a warmer and more earthy palette: olive, terracotta, mocha, and muted gold, inspired by the Mediterranean landscape.

Classic white and pink are not disappearing but are now sharing the stage with a more sensory, grounded atmosphere.

03

Gastronomy as part of the experience

Fine dining in collaboration with local chefs has gone from being a rare occurrence to becoming a central part of the wedding experience itself for many couples.

We are seeing a clear shift towards menus built around seasonal and local ingredients, often presented as a dedicated culinary evening.

"No matter which direction you are drawn to, a good destination wedding is still about the same thing: a place you love, and a celebration that feels uniquely yours."

04

Smaller, more personalized companies

While multi-day celebrations are becoming more common, we are seeing an opposite trend in the guest list: fewer, but more intimate celebrations, with 30–50 of the closest friends and family rather than a large party of 150.

Resources are instead directed towards quality — better food, better venue, more time together.

05

Sustainability is moving from exception to expectation

Digital invitations, locally grown flowers, and local suppliers will become a standard part of the planning conversation, not just something the most environmentally conscious think about.

Many venues have already adapted to this demand.

06

Architecture and landscape as the main decor

While previous trends focused on building a unique decorative universe, we are now seeing a shift towards the place itself taking center stage.

2027 is more about letting the architecture and nature speak for themselves, with fewer, more thoughtful details.
